A very posh man who lost an internal party election to the incumbent leader will now take over without being elected by anyone.He secured the public backing of 54% of party MPs, but nobody actually voted. This person will now run the UK, twice removed from a general election, and with no manifesto or policy portfolio of his own.This isn't a tragicomedy. This is how British democracy works.

This was in sourcehut's recent ToS changes banning cryptocurrency: "Projects which seek out cryptocurrency donations are strongly discouraged from doing so, but will not be affected by this change."It's up to Drew how he runs sr.ht but this comes across as unclear (to me) whether sr.ht is a safe space for projects accepting cryptocurrency donations. It doesn't affect me but it might matter to the next sci-hub, or any project facing exclusion from online payment systems.To me, that's the fundamental difference between the cryptonutters and the small but possibly quite important work done by those punished for their efforts, or marginalized groups.I CW'd this because I know some viscerally hate anything to do with cryptocurrencies and I'd prefer not to make their day angrier.
