@drewdevault computers and bandwidth are relatively cheap...unless you are absurdly profligate with them as go's package manager appears to be

@anildash no, cloudflare and other anti-bot products make it largely impossible for new entrants. Google/bing crawlers are whitelisted

The best thing I've seen written on Musk and Twitter is this random YouTube comment (that I can't find a way to link to directly)

The physics suggest that a carbon capture technology that uses the ocean might be the only way to make carbon capture economical. There's just much more CO2 per liter of water than per liter of air, and ocean surface is an enormous, effective atmospheric CO2 capture mechanism. So I'm keeping my eye on technologies like this https://medium.com/predict/mit-may-have-just-developed-the-ultimate-climate-technology-37c10791e69b

There are a few parts of Twitter I miss, but most of them I can excuse abandoning because they were also cliquish or toxic to some extent. But I really miss energy/decarbonization twitter, where a lot of smart and well-informed people shared interesting news, cutting -edge research, and were more than happy to engage with a dilletante like me. Haven't found anything like it on the fediverse, and it grinds my gears when people here are self-congratulatory about this space given what's missing

@mjg59 I mean, if it follows same-origin policy it still all comes down to who controls the domain's private keys (and certificate authority, etc etc)
