@notjustbikes Any idea why I don’t seem to be able to follow you from this server? I click following, it looks like it’s worked, but then if I refresh your profile goes back to not being followed…. Something weird with your host or a problem with this instance? Any ideas, @seb?

@seb @notjustbikes Still no luck, it looks like it’s followed and then when I refresh it’s gone, and it never shows up in my follow list. Must have tried 20 times. Would this happen if their server is blocking ours for some reason?

@seb @notjustbikes Is it set up wrong? The actual instance URL is https://social.notjustbikes.com/ which is running Mastodon 3.5.3.

@stux Wow, good video, really helps drive home how unimaginably evil nuclear weapons are…

@matthew_d_green More details required, there are dozens of different Cavium chips, and they're mostly CPUs that run third party operating systems... They seem to be talking about VPN especially, so I wonder is this a specific flaw in the IPSEC acceleration part of the CPU or what?

@RM_Transit I really like daily and weekly caps, like TFL has. It solves a lot of the problems without having to have people think about whether they would get better value buying a travel pass - just tap on and off, and if you hit the cap then good (travel more on PT - now it’s free!), but if you didn’t end up travelling some days then you’re not wasting part of a weekly pass you’ve paid for.As long as the caps are low enough, it solves a lot of problems with the zone system, and having caps is all around more equitable than a fixed fair system where you pay for every trip.

@clive This kind of nonsense is not helpful - the main part of the story is an aircraft built in 1994 and operated in a region known for not having the safest maintenance and operations, and the other incidents mentioned are minor routine maintenance issues.

@nixCraft Speculation I’ve seen points more to Mozilla potentially worrying that after this antitrust case that’s ongoing, Google may not be able to pay other companies (Mozilla, Apple, etc.) to be the default search engine. So potentially more seeing that the money might dry up
