@Amirography the majority of apartments are let unfurnished, not including appliances etc. Depending on how long you plan to stay and your knowledge of German it may be advisable to hire an agent. German law around renting protects the interests of the person renting, but owners may try things with a foreigner. Personally I'd advise against signing a contract you don't understand. Of cpurse, this doesn't apply if it's just a few months.
