@stux @randahl I wish mastodon let you set hours of open registration and hours of review registration.Also I wish you could set signup to start as a limited account that could then be promoted later.

@woe2you multiple entry points is confusing and bad. have 1 entry point and then let people move accounts easily.if you can't move account easily then shoving people on random servers as a starting point sucks.also.. we did that and people hated it. your idea is literally something that already happened and it was bad then and it will not be magically better now.

Which all of my @AltTextHealthCheck reports depends on.So I can switch to an API from a difference instance which is maybe weird because the account in on mastodon.social OR maybe @Mastodon can just turn off the UI and no the API?
