       @mjg59 fwiw I have a working 5x in a drawer. RMA'd my failed one but needed a replacement asap so ended up with a 1+ and never used the replacement 5x much.

       @mjg59 thanks. ACPI was always a mystery to me.But one thing I still don't get. The kernel needs a driver to talk to every device and that driver needs to know how to do everything else. Why is turning the device on and off so uniquely tricky that it would be a problem to do that in the driver too?

       @dalias what phone is this? Third party vendors are notorious for killing apps when Android developers keep telling them they should let the apps remain in ram suspended

       @mjg59 @vbabka yeah but they also just don't dry very well. If you have access to a vent you should use itBut also, the bad news is dryer vents should be cleared of lint regularly. Lint in dryer hoses is a fire hazard.
