We were discussing sweets with a friend a couple of months ago.She said she remembered Dolly Mixtures as a child and wondered if they were still available. I went online and sent her a bag of them.Yesterday she sent some to me....3kg of them !That's the diet buggered !

@Flick I love sprouts,When my granddaughter was at primary school and they invited parents to the Christmas diner.I went in place of Mum and Dad.I noticed she was pushing two sprouts around her plate.I reached across and got both with a stab of my fork and popped them in my mouth.Her face lit up like all her birthdays had come at once.I found out afterwards she was supposed to eat all her main in order to be allowed pudding.Made me realise that was what Grandads are for.Now she is 16 and still hates sprouts.

Watching "Carols from Kings."One of those things that adds to Christmas.The building itself is amazing having been built around 1500.For me and mine, our Christmas has started.I wish all you, whether you celebrate Christmas or not,A safe and peaceful time.

@dick_turpin Actually, the Local town does a certain amount out of their budget.North Yorkshire do the Highways , or dont.Bus routes are supposed to be a priority......

@justine As someone who has fallen asleep on a long drive and crashed into a house, I am aware how tiredness can creep up.Take a blanket and if you feel sleepy, pull off the road and have some sleep.Ask for the no hotel statement in writing.
