@stux It's not stupid in any way. That's a valid point and I'm thinking about it too. But my hope is we're going to teach them to be better than we are and they will fix our world.

@stux She’s just not the sharpest tool in the shed and I think someone far clever has taken advantage of her.It doesn’t mean she’s not guilty, but I doubt she came up with this on her own. She is a scapegoat and someone else will run away with the money…😂On the other hand, how and why people thought throwing money at this was a great idea baffles me greatly…🤦🏻♂️

@stux Today you can safely assume everything is lined up with bad intentions. No exceptions. I’ve some pretty gnarly stuff, including gore images embedded as just flickering frames in kids videos. No way to catch it on a brier skimming… It’s just better to keep the kids offline…😔The times the Internet was educational and actually useful is far gone…

@stux Whatever shady thing you might suspect them for, it’s not unsafe to assume they are probably doing it.I’d just cut it on my gateway altogether, but it will most likely mean an argument with my wife…😔One time, her Instagram stopped working and she started complaining about it. I have then discovered I’m causing it by blocking QUIC traffic…I did it because I don’t think there is a way to inspect QUIC, a big blob shady companies are hiding behind…@Gargron

@notthebee I’m trying to understand what are you warning people about…So they won’t spend their money? If they can, they do no harm to their family, why not? There’s always limiting #WifeApprovalFactor…🤣I also work with a huge IT infrastructure and it’s usually not so easy to replace IT equipment. It has got better in last few years, but it’s been usually a battle with accounting over what they see as non-manufacturing related toys…Until something stops working, of course…😅

@wolf480pl Well, in case of @notthebee they probably will, as they made their stuff sort of public and it’s part of the game…🤷🏻♂️I will drop a post, leave a comment or share when I find something useful, but I’m far from being a public figure and often nobody cares.🙈Though I’m more and more discouraged seeing what’s happening with AI bots and stuff.

@wolf480pl I fully agree with you, but not everyone has a viable, decent platform to share that knowledge.For example, in 12 years, I have seen my fair share of Active Directory cases I’ve solved by sheer luck with even Premier Support being clueless… I have no easy way to share it while not revealing company data.Places like reddit also seem to be unfriendly and now with the bots - not my go-to space. I was IRC person in the past. I miss that. Fediverse sort of fills that gap…@notthebee

We really appreciate it!As it is sometimes annoying, it is also satisfying and experience!I remember I once had to rehost an Active Directory partition (LDAP, not filesystem) in a multi-domain forest because it got corrupted and stopped replicating to other subdomains. And since we are manufacturing company, I could not do anything simple but intrusive…I ended up doing it by hand, server by server (on 100 servers). Took me 3 days, with ~1h nap time every 24h…😂😅

@stux Oh no… It actually went much deeper. I had an Amiga 600 and it wasn’t just „making sound”. You could tell the game is loading OK by the sound made by the floppy disk drive…😅
