       I wonder to what extent the constant exposure to the worst news in the world depresses, traumatizes, numbs into apathy, or drives one psychotic in one way or another. Certainly, before checking out the news, I want to take a shot of whisky, and am constantly surprised at the folly and wickedness of mankind, so much that I sometimes wish I could somehow separate myself from these glorified animals, and walk a higher, and more human path, or crawl away to the forest, to curse God, and die.
