@fribbledom This question sounds harsher than it's meant to be, but have you made anything practical with it yet? There's no particular reason why you should - it's just that I really want one, but I'd want to make things with a definite purpose. And there's only two things on my list so far so it's hard to justify the cost...

@fribbledom Continuing questions, because I may just be falling down the rabbit hole of getting a printer. What made you choose the Mega S?

@fribbledom Depends what your data is. Most of my data is tabulated numeric, so csv is just fine.

@fribbledom Apologies for still asking you questions about 3D printing. I promise you this is the last and then I'll stop pestering you.I've decided to by a Sidewinder, but I'm having trouble locating one. Where did you order yours from?

@solderpunk Also "I don't own any rights on this video".At least we seem to have got past the days when people thought writing "This is for educational purposes only" would keep them out of trouble.

@monsterjavaguns It seems such a waste to have bought a large volume printer and not to use it 🙂

@galaxis I wonder if they have plans to make a laptop version. I've been thinking I'll be in the market for a cheap, low-power laptop at some point. That or a Pine64 could be ideal. If I need more power I could just fire up a remote session to my desktop PC. Decent video would be a must though.

@nuala Funny - I've read the two extremes today. This, and some dude saying that 3D printers should be considered 'default' household appliances like fridges.Getting manufacturing to the point of consumer-level convenience is probably multi-decadal, and probably very different to current technology - especially if you want stuff that isn't plastic. It may or may not happen, but I'd say your assessment will hold for a long time to come.
