@tavi Broadly speaking pro-c means you believe that people under the current legal age of consent, can actually consent, at least hypothetically.Some pro-cs believe that those young people can consent right now, others believe that they could under different hypothetical circumstances such as having equal rights to (what is currently considered) legal adults. Being pro-c itself is not a statement on whether someone "should" be in an adult-minor/child relationship or whether it is a good idea.

One thing I've been thinking about is how parents & school occupies so much of a young person's time and thought space that they have much less time/ability to imagine or work towards a better situation for themselves or broader society.It's similar to how some legal adults work so many hours that they don't have enough time or energy to do activism.

I'm a MAP and a pedophile, but I prefer women most of all. It's kind of an interesting situation where I could hypothetically get along just fine living the standard teleio life, never paying any mind to the issues of MAPs.However, I can't fucking stand how MAPs are treated in society. It hurts even people who are self-identified MAPs or not MAPs in any capacity at all. It is so wrong. It needs to get better, is getting better and WILL get better and I'm doing what I can to help.

So Florida is moving towards capital punishment for "sex crimes" against children. And you don't even need a unanimous vote. Leftists and trans activists have rightly pointed out various problems with this.Since we acknowledge that capital punishment for so-called sex criminals is bad partly because conservatives are trying to legislate that trans people are sex criminals, can we also acknowledge that the sex offender registry should be abolished?Even if trans people are not executed for being called sex criminals by the state, them having to register as sex offenders is still extremely bad.I'm against capital punishment and sex offender registry even if trans people are completely out of the equation, but I hope people realize we need to do better in general from this unfortunate situation

As Minnesota law already prevents discrimination based on sexual orientation, this opens up the possibility for pedophilia or minor attraction to be considered a sexual orientation and be protected against discrimination.

@comrade_lecter YAP has the benefit of indirectly pointing out that there's crossover between how legal minors are treated and how legal young adults are treated. Everything here has probably seen legal young adults, like those in the late teens or 20s, being infantilized. Or people saying that it's wrong for them to be with older adults. The crossover is real even if the social and legal consequences aren't as severe for legal adult x minor couples.In addition young adults often don't have equal rights to older adults.I also like that YAP avoids the legalist ties as you mentioned. I'm not ready to stop using MAP but if YAP really catches on then I think it would be a good enough replacement.

@comrade_lecter I have seen no attempts at trying to "nuke" MAP in favor of YAP and especially not from the people involved in the recent Elon twitter happening. All I have seen is a few people prefer to use YAPs instead of MAPs, which is perfectly fine.
