@GavinPrynne I talk a lot more in depth about youth liberation on my nnia account. Basically, I want all age restrictions abolished. Naturally, that means that "parental rights" and forced schooling must be abolished. I think those two things are the primary causes or facilitators of child abuse and child depression.Under youth liberation, we can still have had standards so we make sure people have informed consent or are sufficiently competent, for things like medical procedures or driving.

@GavinPrynne Youth liberation is itself radical, I don't think the majority of self-described youth libs draw the line at 5 year olds voting. Certainly, I have not seen such limitations from the youth libs I talk to. Being concerned about 5 year olds voting is ridiculous, honestly. Even if for some reason we would expect they would "vote the wrong way."The comparatively extremely small population of 5 year olds who would vote, are not going to turn any elections.

@GavinPrynne Funnily enough, if I were to think of a centrist position it would probably be something along the lines of advocating for young people have all rights except to have sex with adults. In my experience, that feels like the primary disagreement among youth libs. No one talks about whether we should have a minimum voting age.

Maybe not even significantly different.I think the bigger difference is in realization of pedophilia as you said, due to societal factors. For one thing, society expects interest in children by women to non-sexual or less sexual whereas men are suspected to have a sexual interest more.That may be one reason why women may realize it less.

If you had asked me when I was a teenager whether I should have the right to have consensual sex with adults (and vice versa), I would have said yes. For people to disagree with teenage me on that would be the paternalistic "you don't know any better," the same kind of argument that is used against the rights of women and children in general.

@StoryTeller youth liberation for everything but sex (including sex with adults) is fake youth liberation, ultimately. also pretty impractical, any remaining sex restriction will be used to justify non-sex restrictions. "How can you run for the senate if you can't even have sex?"
