33€ pro TB mit drehendem Rost, oder 66€ pro TB für SSDs? Was lohnt sich als ZFS-Datengrab für Backups, Videorohmaterial und andere Daten, die hauptsächlich liegen und gelegentlich gelesen werden? Sollte sequentiell gelesen 1Gbit/s auslasten können. Immer noch drehender Rost, oder ists schon in Richtung SSDs gekippt? Nutzkapazität mindestens 10TB im RAID-Z

Tagesschau: "Am Montag 500k Fluggäste von Streik betroffen." In Relation zu dem was die Bahn so täglich wegsteckt ist das nix. Die Hauptbahnhöfe von Hamburg, München, Frankfurt und Berlin haben jeweils alleine so viele pro Tag. Ich wünsche mir stattdessen Tagesschaumeldungen wie "500k Reisende betroffen weil einzelnes Stellwerk wegen 3 kranker Mitarbeiter*innen unbesetzt" zusammen mit riesigem Medienaufschrei nach Unverhältnismäßigkeit und Unverantwortlichkeit des Bahn Managments.

The idea is not new. Hell, I had a similar setup like 14 years ago at the student dormitory already. I just procastrinated implementing all the stuff needed to pull it off via config managment.

Oops, forgot to set autoboot on some of the VMs at home. virt-manager via ssh via wireguard to boot them. Yay. I'm doing all of this stuff all day long at work, but doing it on my own private stuff still feels kinda special.

The yellowish full moon is already setting behind some tall buildings. It only got to a few degrees above the horizon today. Orbital mechanics, inclination of its orbital plane, precession and other factors play together to make this happen from time to time.
