The plot twist will be that the AI starting the war it actually WAS protecting humanity but we over-reacted and humans are the real monsters. @Shadowman311 Ive read the book several times, I hated the series and found it unwatchable. So many minor stupid changes that undermined characters or gave certain lines from one character to another which made no positive changes to the story, every change they made actively made the story worse or stupider or nonsensical.Ex. Right at the beginning one of Toranaga's Samurai has an outburst as he and Ishido are talking (after Ishido insults Toranaga). In the book Toranaga sentences the Samurai to Sepukku and also his whole family will be killed. In the show the Samurai volunteers to kill himself and his whole family and Toranaga looks stunned. This change was rage inducing for me. It took all the agency and power away from Toranaga and made it seem like the Samurai was just some sort of retard who decided to off his whole family or whatever just to say sorry instead of Toranaga being an absolutely ruthless Leader who doesn't tolerate any fuckery. So many gay changes like that.I highly recommend the book. Also the 1980s mini series is quite good and watchable and sticks closer to the book than the new one does.Though watching this remake may have poisoned the old show for you as it will appear very dated and occasionally cheesy. I still recommend it though as its a better telling of the story.
