Millennial men saw our fathers and uncles and bosses and most of the older men we knew get fucking blindsided by this tripe, and most of those men will never recover. When the only possible outcomes for participation became humiliation or a permanent, crippling injury or death, we just walked away.

The bits about security patching and standups and all the other during workday bits are all references to bullshit that happens day to day at Amazon in ways that are worse or weirder than most other companies. That video was shared all over Chime (Amazon's internal chat program, now getting merged into Slack as the video call backend) when it came out.So yes, the gorillions of people working for Amazon all know a guy like that.

Even worse for them, in the absence of mass immigration fraud, those programmers are competent, highly paid, white, nerdy men who are not managers, which means the parts of the business the managers interact with every day have to hire a bunch of sheboons and rainbow hairs to rebalance their ESG scores. Managers love SaaS and prepackaged software they can have sysadmins and helldesk operate because it claws back some of the power from internal programmers. Even businesses that don't directly hire pajeets benefit from the wage suppression effect that poo(l) of labor provides.Software requires maintenance to be useful in the long term, and so that means if you're automating internal business processes, the only way to do it right is to hire, develop, and maintain a software development team... but managers don't like that.
