I find long-pressing to be quite a lazy UX element. It’d be neat if Apple could invent something that detected pressure or force—it could save a lot of time and prevent toggle misfiring—probably too advanced and futuristic though.

Reddit had a no good, very bad week. Reversing on its 15-year support of 3rd party apps, new API pricing makes using anything other than the official app financially unviable. And with just 30-days before changes take effect, indie devs are on the hook for potentially millions of dollars of unexpected costs and/or App Store refunds. i hate shopping at kroger because their self-checkout stations never have scales that work and so it thinks you’re stealing and in order to scare you it plays back a video of you from above so you’ll stop stealing but i am not so i just get sad because it shows that on the top of your head you are balding and you’re self-conscious and you’re not a thief you are just 30 and you shouldn’t be balding this soon oh why oh why must it be so

@TechConnectify You did a fantastic job. I don’t know how it could be done better. That said, we still disagree on plug-and-charge. I think having a payment terminal is a must for those that wish not to trifle with it; however, as someone who lived with plug-and-charge for years and no longer have it, I miss it a lot. Imagine having to authenticate every time you plugged in at home. Many people only charge via DC.

I remain deeply unsatisfied that there's no replacement for the best e-reader ever made, the Kobo Forma.It used an 8" E-Ink Mobius display, felt impossibly light, had perfect weighting and display taper, and nothing else available matches it.

The internet is an essential public utility and should be treated as such.Fiber networks should be (a) municipally owned, (b) funded by bonds and repaid by subscriber fees/dues, (c) leased to many different ISPs to ensure the lowest prices possible.It works. That is all.
