xdg-open kept giving me an error while still succesfully opening http/https uris (probably via mailcap fallback or x-www-browser).Must be a bug in xdg-open for my DE setup, which is just a WM.I turned on debug output for xdg-open with XDG_UTILS_DEBUG_LEVEL=3.Looked fine. Went to the line from the error message and wrote a debug line to print the variables... turns out my Exec entry in the .desktop file was missing a /bin/ in the path. I've got to remember to always assume that it's probably something I did wrong.

My waste of time web archive url fetcher got itself upgraded with a Gtk2 GUI.I've had this as a cli tool since the internet archive wanted me to run JS to find archived versions of websites. I much prefer a simple tool like this with an easy to navigate list of snapshots.#programming #gtk2 #fixtheweb

Reconfigured all my WM shortcuts to be based on the super key. Takes some getting used to no Alt+F1 and Alt+F4 to open and close a Terminal. They're now Super+t and Super+q.I'm glad I did though, no more interfering with application shortcuts.#fluxbox #x11 #keyboard

@ioy I was trying to finish Lion King in a patched DOSBox with savestates and my shortcuts kept interfering with the DOSBox defaults. Alt + F5 saves, in my WM it kills a window. It happens regularly with software, so I decided it was time to isolate all my WM shortcuts by having them use super as a base (as no programs I've encountered do that). Now they will (hopefully) never interfere with a program again.I made one exception. Alt + Tab is still Alt + Tab.

@thomasfuchs @dredmorbius @micahflee It is objectively bullshit. youtube-dl is not helping circumvent "effective technological measures". It can extract the links to the streams from webpages. It can not break DRM.Anyone could find those links by opening the built-in network inspector of a browser and run ffmpeg -i <url> -map 0 -c copy stream.tsIt's clearly a case for the EFF.
