       @sun @djsumdog patriarchy exists in many cultures, not to mention how women are silenced & treated as objects of pleasure in the West. It’s simply not true that Muslim women have no agency, since in many families, women have a strong role, a strong voice & make important decisions in their own homes. ->

       @sun @djsumdog -> they are definitely not passive or voiceless. We can & should criticise harmful practices where they happen but should not generalize millions of women or ignore their lived experiences just bc those experiences do not fit our external stereotype.

       @h4890 bonuses CEOs receive are pure nonsense. No one is worth 90 million for four months regardless of the agreement. The idea that a person has that capacity must end. For these people, it’s usually about layoffs & shortcuts. Collective agreements (CBA) is the way forward to ensure the well-being of workers. It would provide real leverage, lock in fair pay, predictable schedules, solid benefits & clear rules - and not have to rely on the goodwill of management.

       @sim @djsumdog @sun your point of view rests on the assumption of erasure. As if all these women were passive victims without the slightest room for their own action & own will. It should not be dismissed that all these women wear it voluntarily for cultural, personal or spiritual reasons. The real problem is not the fabric - it’s the lack of freedom. Women's right to choose should be defended, not dictated on which choices are acceptable.

I’m sorry to say that the argument uses heavily incorrect statistics, exaggerations & zero evidence. And of course, an ideological framing. But ridiculous claims like “rape capital” are not supported by credible data.        @h4890 -> finally, let me just say, reducing inequality or negotiating wages does not stem from envy, it’s a cheap claim that you’re making. The data is rooted in well-documented economic effects. It’s definitely fair to say that it’s often about economic fairness, stability &  productivity. And it’s proven.

       @h4890 don’t really why the negative tone. Norberg makes good arguments based on historical evidence when he describes  market economies. His has valuable insights, although not the whole picture due to his ideological perspective. Yes, markets create wealth, of course, but they do not prevent instability, monopoly & inequality.
