I recently learned my instance was fully suspended by another instance, without a listed reason. I have a guess as to why, and emailed the admin, but haven't heard back.The nature of independence means that communities can sometimes have pretty narrow definitions of acceptable ideological discourse, and federation means that smaller servers sometimes get ostracized because they have a small userbase that might not be as ideologically cohesive.[1/2]#fediverse #mastoadmin #FediMeta

I think other Fediverse admins who find 1 post with problematic content on other servers and don't report them, and instead block the entire server, are assholes relatively on par with Elon.Are you 100% certain that every little post, comment, or DM on your server aligns with your values? Do you think your entire server should be blocked because you have 1 bad user and NOBODY REPORTED IT? Sleeping is my all time favorite daily activity. Waking up in the morning is my least favorite, by a mile.I delay going to bed out of wanting to avoid waking up and working. Every night is the Sunday Night Scaries.It's kind of terrible.

Update on my telemarketing spam problem: I was getting a call every hour all day long during business hours, for the past 2 weeks. I got it to stop! How?I turned off Google Phone Screening, and then when a call came in, I spoke to them in Korean! Over and over, no English. Of course, I only know a handful of phrases, but that was enough.Just like that, the telemarketing stopped.#telemarketing #lifehack

What is wrong with Windows?! I keep a small Win partition on my 2022 gamer laptop in case I need to take a cert exam or use a gov website, and I booted it for updating for the first time in 6 months. It took over 6 hours and 6 reboots to update! At one point, it was going bu-ding every minute from random notifications so I had to mute it.Meanwhile, my 2012 Thinkpad T420 needed a full Fedora version upgrade, and that finished in 15 minutes.No wonder MS is losing users#Windows #Windows11
