@futurebirdVery intriguing idea!As an artist I like to add: it is so very much easier to depict any movement of the body than any expression on a face, let alone individality. The first faces were not even complete: 2 eyes, or a nose, sometimes with a mouth. The many faces which were drawn since 5000 yrs ago were all generic. Individuals show up ~2000 yrs ago, real expressions were still rare.

@afairmaiden Well, this is exactly the type of dress pattern which doesn't survive production design for 2D animation because it can only be done reasonably inexpensive in 3D.But it's a nice character!

@futurebird As a device for the planning stage this sounds OK. I'd lay out a diagram with all the separate events lined up nicely, then decide which part I tell in the time it happens, which parts I tell in retrospective (and maybe some in foreshadowing), and which I omit completely. It may be a good exercse to analyse some stories of others in that respect. LOTR, "Imperial Star" by Delaney, etc. (I dare everybody to do the same for "The Manuscript Found in Saragossa" by Potocki!)

@futurebirdThe most important part is accessibility of your books. I finally ordered a small stepladder so I can reach the top shelves again. And I need to shift some books to other shelves which right now are hidden or buried behind other stuff on the floor.
