@volpeon At some point the industry put the south park parody of peter griffin in charge of all the isekai titles. I’m not sure yet whether that decision was brilliant or terrible.

Hope the start of everyone’s year went well.Resolutions for the year:More photo trips. This past year I did a lot less of them for a variety of reasons, and I’d like to bring it back up to the level I had things the year before. Currently I’m investigating a humidity issue with my car (might be weather sealing starting to deteriorate) which means I’m reluctant to keep gear in it for a long period of time. Once I’ve worked that one out, and some yearly obligations that take over my schedule around these next 3 months, I’ll be working out some ideas and hopefully also getting glass specific to those purposes.While I’m on the subject: I need better familiarity with the Canon presets system. It seems a lot more integral to the R5 than it ever was to the 6D, so I’ll be focusing on learning that.Develop the Triptych system further (my long-lived slow burn tabletop project). I’d like to have a new core rules release for testing as of May and to turn some of the lore-heavy ideas that make up its test setting into much more concretely playable elements before the year is out.Get something operational in 3D in the Godot engine. Doesn’t have to be the game I want to make, yet, but has to be something.

It is a cruel twist of history that Ctrl-C will copy text in any graphical program but will send an interrupt in the terminal. Particularly if you’re just absentmindedly trying to copy some suspect output message while your system updates and your hands act quicker than your head and kill the updater while it’s doing something delicate like regenerating your initramfs.

@Pawlicker that probably doesn’t help but in this specific case they’re holding a lease in a place that refuses to renew for them, so that’s the big factor.

got one of those lil portable document scanners this morning. It runs fine in linux using sane, but there’s one major issue- I need to clean it and the only way I can trigger that process is apparently through its windows utility. I then spent a few hours trying to solve an issue with virt manager so I could boot my windows VM up again, and I’ve admitted defeat and am going to borrow a laptop from someone if I can.

@kaia what about like a summer camp instance? Pop it up for 2 or 3 weeks and people socialize with the knowledge that it'll be dead on a set date and time.
