       @simonI used to think that way until I realized that I'd probably want to rewrite it anyway.The code I wrote a decade or two ago was a different era. I was using a different language, and even if I weren't, API's and best practices evolved. There are newer and better open source projects written by other people. Might as well try those?Am I ever going to write code using GWT again? No. Do I care about IE6 compatibility? No.It's more fun to implement the same thing with new tech.

       @simon It sounds great but also very specialized. We all use maps, but I how many programmers have done geo anything?I wonder what other under-appreciated specialist libraries there are?
