bring back using email as an actual way of chatting with people, everyone has email anyway, why not use it, instead of the annoyance of wanting to talk to someone but they only use some service you don't [and certainly don't want to use]

what happened to hand made ascii art?every time I search for ascii art I mostly get those tools for [badly] converting from an imagethat don't use any technique for detail or try accounting for the character shapes, just treat it like a gray-scale pixel artdoing this is the equivalent of passing some picture trough a pixelation filter and then saying you're a pixel art genius

one thing that really needs some fixing, or at least more attention to detail, in linux worldmaking the graphical interface process (and some other stuff it designates) a protected process or something, that always has some amount of resources allocated, and in general doing a lot more to make sure it doesn't lock up or crashso many times when I have a program that is taking up memory or cpu (either leaks or just being bloated) and the desktop ends up being the first thing to 'die' because of it (partially or completely freezing) and so I have to go to the tty and kill the program from there
