Is the #sdf #mastodon instance fixed again? Can I start to use it regularly again without the fear of data loss? @SDF

@simon I can imagine it is quite helpful if you really just use it as a search engine kinda thing: to find resources on the internet. So not to five you answers to your questions, but to help you understand the question to deliver better search results. If it works out or will be used like that is something we'll see ...I guess most people want to see AI as a full solution for a problem, but it's really just a statistical tool.

@simon that actually makes total sense... We'll see what they do. Maybe they just formulate a better search term for their usual search engine.

@ibannieto @julienxx I just wish it was a filesystem, but if the code is there I can maybe build one out of it

I'm doing a survey on plan 9 and touch user interfaces. Any plan 9 user (on any distribution) can participate. https://9fans.topicbox.com/groups/9fans/T71948c07cc50eb8d-Me06755e6c739e09f5e5285a1/survey-touch-user-interfaces-and-plan-9 #9fans #9front #plan9 #plan9frombelllabs #belllabs

Here we are. First working and somewhat beautiful #spreadsheet editor for #plan9 #9front.Or what I like to call it: glorified hoc frontend.http://shithub.us/sirjofri/spread/HEAD/info.html

Spread got an update, with support for cell alignment (left, right, center, and dot (tbd)) and automatic column resizing.(Plus, better shutdown and you can now open spread without a file argument)This also introduces some buffering, let me know when cells don't update properly anymore in some cases.@mrcranky

Spread now supports ranges using a preprocessor.[A1()+A4()] will be converted to (A1()+A2()+A3()+A4()). This only works for math cells, obviously, and it works across rows/columns:[A1()+C4()]

Also, there's a math mode now that lets you focus on the functionality of the cells. It greys out everything that's not a math cell, so you can see a difference between the text "3" and the number "3"

@driusan @a one of the biggest lacks in my opinion is this: you can read a full year about everything around plan 9, all documentation, all man pages, even a basic installation. But once you set up a plan 9 system you're done and you need help. You need help using the system, you need help configuring it, and there's often just no documentation for you.

@jschauma sh even has a weird syntax, especially if compared to rc.Funny story: I recently wrote a few imagemagick scripts. All sources complain about quoting and escaping. I had no issues like that with rc!

I know #activitypub is very powerful and most servers only "use" a subset of its features. I'm wondering, is there a #fediverse activitypub server software that tries to use _every_ feature? It doesn't have to look great and deliver a good experience, I'm just curious. To be more precise, I'm not asking for a library or framework, but a full running server that you can install.
