Since I just saw yet another developer use '1.2.3.4' in an example configuration, a reminder that you MUST NOT use publicly routable addresses that you do not control in your code.Instead, use one of the available 'TEST-NET' IPv4 or IPv6 ranges documented in RFC 6890, such as;192.0.2.0/24198.51.100.0/24203.0.113.0/24❌ 1.2.3.4✅ 192.0.2.4Pass it on to all of your fellow developers, documentation writers, and so forth.Full RFC is here;https://datatracker.ietf.org/doc/rfc6890/

I am annoyed at how much coverage of these recurring "Big Gorilla lays off around 10.000 people" is basically just a rehash of the company press release, with not a single journalist asking how it's possible that all of these big tech companies made the same exact mistake of hiring too many people, while simultaneously showing record profits.Like, if a 'rigorous review' finds 12.000 redundancies, why does nobody question leadership about how this was allowed to happen?Not one critical note.

I am a bit worried about the number of people here who, like me, are fairly recent arrivals, and who are using the so-called 'extreme' and 'unreasonable' reactions to them wanting to 'hack' the fediverse to write off the whole conversation around consent as somehow not relevant.The NSA monitors anything you do on the internet anyway, so why are you complaining about tech bros wanting to harvest out in the open, yada yada.It seems we need to define what consent actually is.AGAIN.
