Hello World! After more than a year social media abstinence, I thought I join at least Mastodon again and give a short #Introduction of myself!Sooooo... How should I start? I'm turning 18 this week and start (probably) college in Germany next year (IT-Sec).I use a Thinkpad T440p with :fedora: Silverblue; googlefree-Moto G7 Power (Custom ROM)I would like to program, but I don't know anything about it. @Mayana Hello Mayana! Thank you for your response - I'm really happy about it!I needed some clearance in the last 1.5 years - Internet is a stressful place sometimes! It's not always easy if you aren't using mainstream messengers, (I think) especially in my age -- all the more happy am I to be back! 🙂

Hi @freddy I like your idea and hope you hang on to it! And don't get frustrated if you skip/forget a day! Keep going! There are probably >50 books in my shelf which I didn't read yet and even more on my phone.I finished "On Seeing the 100% Perfect Girl One Beautiful April Morning'" by Haruki Murakami (short stories 🙂 ) last week and I'm currently reading "Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep?" by Philip K. Dick#100DaysToRead

I feel bad about myself because I didn't have done anything 'productive' on my machine for a very, very long time.To counterpart the emptiness inside of me 😶, I try to start over again and participate in the Unicorn CTF 2020 this weekend.I can't go by that I will achieve anything in the tournament but maybe it's fun and I can learn something new! 🧙♀️ #unicorn #ctf

I thought configuring GPG was a headache with sub-keys, revocation-certificates, key-servers,...BUT ssh?! :crazy: I mean, ssh user@host -- get it. Easy peacy.-- There are a quadtrillion config-files in /etc/ and $HOME/.ssh, ssh+sshd, ssha, certificates,..... :openbsd: The more I want to dig into a topic (even if it's a simple thing like ssh), the more I feel overwhelmed by the tremendous deepness of the topic.Soo... time to get deeper into a relatively new topic for me :)) :terminal:

@nikolal I can agree with you! I installed Ubuntu 20.04 on my step-fathers Laptop. I knew he wouldn't update his PC very often (if at all) I set a cronjob to do the job of updating once a week & set two aliases for youtube-dl in bash so he can download music/videos with a simple yt3 <link> // yt4 <link>.I'm happy with :silverblue: , he's happy with *eh, thanks son, it just works* :ubuntu:

Sorry (not sorry) for my inactivity. Social media isn't made for me :) however, this week I configured :fedora: on my Raspi3B+, configured ssh and I'm able to connect it via gpg. Actually it was a lot simpler than to dig into ssh than gpg. Awesome!Thank you @nikolal for your offered help! Somehow I need to figure out how to configure ssh with SELinux properly - there is a problem with SELinux when I want to change the Port on which the SSH-server listens. :)Have a nice day everyone! :linux:

@fluxx Ich Frage mich, wie Firefox die Unabhängigkeit von Google, Apple und co. in der Finanzierung bewältigen möchte. Entlassungen, Firefox Pocket, Firefox PasswordSafe, --Send und VPN halte ich da für keine gute Herangehensweise, oder irre ich mich? :firefoxnew:Ich frage mich zudem, welche weitreichenden Folgen die Entlassungen auf die Entwicklung von der UI/UX von Firefox, aber auch auf die Entwicklung von :tor: hat.
