As an early #OpenStreetMap contributor (nowadays not as active as in the early days) I'm proud that one of my children saw some missing elements on the map and asked me to teach how to contribute to the project. After going through the tutorial of the OSM ID editor, child added several newly built houses in our village, correct with the complete address. #ProudDad

For people interested in #rust I can recommend the https://rustacean-station.org/ podcast. Just listened to the episode about #Tauri with Daniel Thompson-Yvetot from July. I really like their attitude toward security and community. Also I discovered Tauri looks more interesting than I initially thought, so it might be worth a look. According to them, #Servo might be resurrected to some degree in the context of Tauri development because of the complications when using different webviews on each system.

@stanford To me #RustLang is a little bit like beer. You definitely don't like the first glass you drink in your life, probably the second and third will not taste that good either. For many people though, there comes a point when they start to like it, while others never get enjoy it, and that's OK. Given its current hype, it might be unpleasant times for some people who need to get in touch with it not having chosen it by themselves, e.g. because a project chose it.

Sitze zum ersten Mal in einem #ICL, einem Fernverkehrszug der dĂ€nischen #DSB. Bin in noch keinem Zug von #ĂBB oder #DB so angenehm gesessen. Ausreichend Raum ist vorhanden, und zumindest in dem Waggon wo ich sitze gibt es ausschlieĂlich PlĂ€tze mit groĂzĂŒgig gestalteten 4-er Tischen.

@adminforge @jela Kurze Notiz als Hintergrundinformation: aktuell ist technisch gesehen zwischen der Enterprise- und der Community-Edition der einzige Unterschied, dass bei Enterprise zwei zusÀtzliche Module mit drin sind: Automoderation (z.B. Talkiing-Stick), sowie Voting-FunktionalitÀt (mit Protokollierung etc; Polls sind in der Community-Edition mit drin). I remember somebody in the fediverse offering to help out by creating icons / logos for open (source) projects, but I can't find that post any more. @claudius At @OpenTalkMeeting we use a private GitLab Premium instance. We would like to open that up further, but the GitLab pricing model would require each contributor to have a paid account (~30 ⏠/ month), and with the automated account deactivation feature enabled, each account would remain active for at least three months before set to inactive. Federation would have been an escape hatch here, but with this perspective, GitLab is actively blocking involvement in the open source community.
