Yesterday I thought about the first ever lockdown in 2020. I vividly remember the fear, confusion, isolation and anger I felt. Thinking back, I felt a kind of tenderness. Flashforward, by Robert J. Sawyer, is the 12th book I read this year. The perfect summer read, very entertaining and though-provoking. It’s a mix of physics, sci-fi, philosophy, and mystery. I recommend it.@m2m was reading it in 2009 while we were on holiday in Lausanne, pretty close to CERN, where the novel is set.#Book

@hyde it’d be impossible to choose one... the ones I loved, as opposed to liked, are: Pigeon English, Hamnet, The Left Hand of Darkness, Flashforward., and now Ariadne. Then Ted Chiang’s short stories: Tower of Babylon, Story of Your Life, Liking What You See: A Documentary, The Merchant and the Alchemist’s Gate.
