       @itnewsbot Going to sound a little niche, but there is a rather huge industry of embedded code running out there, sometimes under a real time OS or even under a scheduler, that requires marriage to the underlying hardware. This is a layer convention called a Board Support Package.Frequently a mix of assembly and C or just assembly, and frequently done by EEs because locating programmers with assembly experience is hard.
