@EU_Commission And here I am living in a country where cookie consent is still not required because our DPA has a rather creative interpretation of GDPR (apparently I automatically consent to cookies because my browser has a setting to deny cookies - which is set to accept by default π€·ββοΈ) #GDPR #Privacy

@sotolf Haha. I once followed a friend into a tattoo/piercing shop, and while I was waiting for my friend to get his piercing I browsed their tattoo catalogue. They had a Japanese section, where all the words and their translations had been shuffled by accident, so γζζ΄γ (toilet) was translated into "love", etc.When I told the owner, he looked shocked at me and said "are you sure??"π€¦ββοΈ

My spoken #Chinese is finally improving a little bit!It's still very far from being *good*, but I'm starting to feel more comfortable making up sentences without having to think that hard about pronunciation/tones and syntax.Oh, and I've learnt about 70 words since I started studying daily last month. Right now I'm studying by playing Final Fantasy 8 (translated version) and watching TV series.#δΈζ

@stux You have my full support on this one!People need to stop treating this as a centralised network. Not everyone is going to agree on this matter, so different instances will make different decisions here. That's how the Fediverse works by nature. People who want to see corpirate stuff blocked can join an instance that blocks that. We can of course express our opinions, but people going all out harassing instance admins with insults and toxic sarcasm is uncalled for.q

And regarding this: As someone who has worked both in the game industries and other industries, I'd like to point out that building diversity in your company is not only about getting a better product - it's also about building a good work environment.Companies that mostly have male workers ofter end up with a bad work environment. Devs who care about work environment will often be hesistant to join such companies, even if they are white, cis and male.

It's a vicious circle. If your company consists of mainly straight men, then only a certain type of people will want to join your company. I've avoided applying to jobs that seemed *perfect* for me, because I sensed a masculine nerd culture πCombine this with lots of crunch and overtime, and you'll get a team consisting of mostly men who either are single or expect their partner to take care of house work & family.So do yourself a favour and take this into account when hiring!
