Saw something that requires clarification:Pride is not about the right to love who we want to love; it's about the struggle to gain human rights both by law and by culture. Love is part of that. So is sex. But so is property ownership, parental rights, access to medical care, not being fired, etc.

I really enjoy taking myself out to eat at places outside of my (fairly white) neighborhood. I'm across the river this evening (providing transportation for someone) and I am thoroughly appreciating the fact that Minneapolis -St. Paul and inner-ring suburbs are *nothing* like the extremely WHITE place I moved to 33 years ago. Cities change. Minnesota and the Twin Cities are NOT perfect. (Thank you, DOJ report!) But we are more inviting, more expansive, more accepting, than we used to be.

Yes, I KNOW this is a fairly racially sheltered view. I am a white woman, I have spent my life in white spaces, by which I also include spaces where POC are welcome as long as they code-switch to be "acceptable." I am speaking as an outsider to BIPOC, AAPI, and other POC experiences. I know the Twin Cities have a LOT of fucking need for improvement. But, still. It's better than it used to be.

I woke up this morning with a sore throat, took a Covid test, it was positive.The second Covid test was negative, but it is FAR more likely that the positive result is correct and the negative is wrong.I have a prescription for antivirals being delivered to the house.Here's hoping I don't have it???? But we are behaving as though I do.
