the kind of immersion that really makes games for me is when i can really take in all the little bits of a world, like the texture of roads and the landscape around you as you travel. and it's normally completelyhamstrung because the easiest way to travel is to point yourself in a direction and hold the up button. but by making horses automatically follow roads, they make it so the *easiest* way to travel is also the *most immersive*
