Other vague thought of the morning: there are certain girls that got famous via shopping their images, before people had easy access to the technology/filters and were more trained to spot it. Dakota rose, B4by.jpg, Taylor R and a few other people. Venus Angelic partly got famous due to use of circle lenses before people were familiar with them. Mykie has always uses circle lenses but never once mentioned that she does.

The result now is people have become kinda immune to these 'perfect' looks, and it's assumed every image is photoshopped and filtered (where filter means eye enlarging/jaw slimming/etc)I wonder how one is supposed to prove their images/videos are unedited in this climate?

I'm thinking of this just because when you look a bit weird, people might assume there's something fake about it. @Gargron Featured hashtags make more sense as specific user-chosen items to go with a profile, bio hashtags could be a mix of unimportant and important stuff based on the way people use their bios.I'm thinking some people might be misreading it as crowd-sourced hashtags that reject all profile content.

I actually went on Twitter to screencap this, as it's relevant to the thing I just did: which was set up my little sculpting area as a semi-permanent installation in front of my face, which I can (just about) walk around, to stop my ADD ass getting distracted or prevented from doing the work I need to do. ✨

Block functions on Masto should make it so you can't see their pages (via directly loading a profile) without going through three or four confirm dialogues first, for self-care reasons. @Gargron

@Gargron I'm sorta joking, but also not - if you've blocked a user, their page/Toots should be hidden to you on a direct profile visit, unless you click to confirm that you want to read them. For use cases when you block someone that you know, and reading their Toots might he harmful or upsetting to you.

@Gargron Aha I love that you hate your own changes...I definitely prefer it to auto update regardless of scroll position. On the federated timeline it becomes a game to hit the button before the next Toot is posted, to return it to auto update mode.

@Gargron The thing I like about it is you don't get stiffed by the algorithm (people actually can see your posts) and image/video quality+display of uploads is very good. Other people ^ have covered the rest here. 'Like how the internet used to be' also makes sense as a description.
