My son has been exploring the NAPLAN software and it sounds like it's essentially a rootkit.I've told him he's perfectly okay refusing to install it. Your hardware, your choices. I'll back him up on it if the school gives me a call.The Department of Education can install malware on their own hardware but if we're supplying a laptop, no way is it getting that crap installed.

For those non-Australians seeing this thread: NAPLAN is the Australian national schools assessment programme, used supposedly to measure school performance. There are _zero_ negatives to this, apart from "hey you took my high away" to the recipient.It even says it on the pack: "pharmacist only medicine".
