@Herman_Hetherington @ehhh anyway this is a distraction from the fact that most people are B12 deficient, so everyone should take supplements. Plus your animals are fed them anyway. So your argument against supplements is wrong. Same goes for vitamin D unless you live somewhere very sunny

@Herman_Hetherington @ehhh you’re getting nutritional advice from Bear Grylles, he says you shouldn’t eat veg? You think that’s healthy lol! You know he drinks his own piss, do you do that too?

@Herman_Hetherington @ehhh people who treat it as a diet and do it as a fad don’t last, they hop from one fad diet to another or just go back to omni. And sure people post online that “I am an ex vegan” and make up health problems for the clicks. But those who do it for the right reasons and who see the truth about animal agriculture don’t go back. I’ve never been healthier since I went vegan.

@Herman_Hetherington @ehhh how would it affect my health though? When all experts agree that you can thrive on a vegan diet. Unless I suddenly get allergic to beans, I’m good

@fartkart @Wopu We don’t need more farmable land - we already create far more soybeans than humans need (it’s all fed to animals at the moment). We’d actually need far less agricultural land if everyone went vegan. We can rewild the spaces currently used for animals and sequester far more carbon, restore natural forests and wild animal habitats, start to restore the planet to what it once was

Have you heard that almond milk uses loads of water, so is really bad for the environment?Or that rainforests get chopped down to grow your soy beans for that soy milk? These are distortions of the truth, designed to make cow’s milk sound better without actually using evidence. See the photo, and read on, a thread 🧵 #vegan

Yes, almond milk uses a lot of water. But compared to cows milk, it uses about half per glass of milk - and it has far fewer emissions and far less land use!(I’d actually recommend avoiding almond milk and instead using one of the other plant milks)

It’s true that a lot of rainforest is cut down to grow soy beans. But the truth is, those beans are for *animal feed*. Most soy milk you can buy will clearly state on the label that it’s grown in Europe and not from a rainforest. If you’re worried about land usage, soy milk still uses far less land than cows milk!

And if you’re worried about emissions, and your carbon footprint, then cows milk is by far the most dirty and polluting milk there is. You should try a plant based alternative!Cow’s milk is for baby cows, not for humans. 🧵 ends #vegan

“The worldwide phase out of animal agriculture, combined with a global switch to a plant-based diet, would effectively halt the increase of atmospheric greenhouse gases for 30 years and give humanity more time to end its reliance on fossil fuels, according to a new study by scientists from Stanford University and the University of California, Berkeley.”#vegan is, as always, the answer. https://news.stanford.edu/2022/02/01/new-model-explores-link-animal-agriculture-climate-change/
