Someone on here posted a while back about how they encourage people and orgs to abandon Substack by sending them a link to The Handbasket article "Substack is at it again."So I tried it myself. A local org that promotes building a public, secular hospital in my region was using Substack. I replied to their newsletter with the link. When I moved to Seattle in my 20s, I dated a guy who lived off grid about 60 miles south. He loaned me his dog-eared copy of "The Monkey Wrench Gang" by Edward Abbey, and I read it. "The novel was so influential that the term "monkeywrench" has come to mean any sabotage, activism, law-making, or law-breaking to preserve wilderness, wild spaces and ecosystems." @stux Right now I pay nothing for streaming. I watch whatever I can see for free on my Roku. Honestly, I've found some interesting stuff I never would have seen otherwise. My new hobby is scouring the DVD sections at thrift stores. I have a pretty good collection now. Plus, I can take them camping and watch them on my laptop in my little trailer if it rains all day.
