Bear's getting really good at catching a ball out of the air. He'll never be able to soft-jaw it (just too old to start learning something like that) but he can get scary airtime now. Like a whole second off the ground just to catch a ball I threw poorly.

Bear is very displeased with the heat. Twice now I've tried to take him out to walk, and twice he's excitedly gone to the door, stepped through it, and remembered it's FUCKING HOT OUTSIDEHe then looks at me as though his disappointment is immeasurable and his day has been ruined

The 20ft leashes are probably my best purchase of the year. It was muggy and overcast today, so I took the dogs out to the empty lot behind a big building near me to run around and smell. So long as I'm quick on the whip I can keep them relatively untangled, and they respond to commands which allows me to untangle them and release them again.

I threw 3 tennis balls at the same time for Bear just now, and he is now obsessively juggling them -- one in his mouth, one under his paw, one nearby, then he drops the one in his mouth, puts his paw on that one, and grabs the one that was nearby.It only lasted a minute or so but it was adorable.

@mutebird@collapsitarian.io Bear's got a very focused, single-track mind, and he's very persistent in his thinking. So the Paradox of the Three Balls is one that I think really challenges him -- he can hold one ball in his mouth and one beneath his paw, but if he picks up his other paw to get the other ball, he'll fall, and if he opens his mouth to pick up the other ball, he'll drop the ball in his mouth.
