It is my last day in #Vietnam, and I asked for 15 Banh Mi bread (only the bread) to bring back to Korea. Locally baked fresh Banh Mi bread - None can beat it!

@EllenInEdmonton Yes, I will slice them and put them into the fridge. I'll toast it when needed. Butter is great, but my favorite is peanut butter! Unfortunately, Korea, China, and Japan did not develop baking food; instead, they focus on steaming, though it's not as good as baking.

@EllenInEdmonton Don’t mention those Korean bakery companies. They do not know what bread is, just focusing on looking pretty and softness. They don’t have soul. I call it fake bread.

Cao lầu originates from here, Hội An. It was not food for the poor; rather, it was a dish for higher-ranking officials. It has a very special recipe that distinguishes these noodles from many other Vietnamese noodles. This restaurant, Quán Cao Lầu Thanh, is one of the few restaurants that still follow its authentic recipe.

Historically, Mac is a computer for people who are afraid to learn how to use it. Right?

Before this year (2024), I had heard more on the internet from Rust advocates about why Rust is better than C/C++ and why we should use it. Recently, however, the situation has reversed. I've heard more arguments from the C/C++ side about why C/C++ is better than Rust and why we should use it.

@gentoobro Sorry. You are right. My bad. C and C++ are very different! I agree.

@Suiseiseki What do you mean by 'init software'? Do you mean BIOS?

@Suiseiseki Is there any modern / fast laptops that support legacy BIOS mode or way not to use UEFI?

@Suiseiseki Yep. That's why I don't care about UEFI. I can't work with those old ones. I don't want to wait another two hours for my compilation to finish or, even worse, for an OOM error to occur.

@Suiseiseki Currently watching decent good cpu (5Ghz) with 64G ram on it. Not sure what you call garbage software, but building my own compilers and software takes some power and RAM.

@stux This can work temporarily - perhaps for a couple of years or at most 10 to 20 years. Unfortunately, it can never be a permanent solution. Nothing is free, and if you don’t pay, it comes out of someone else’s pocket. Some groundbreaking method is needed for an independent #ActivityPub server to run financially independently without compromising its core values.Thank you for your work @stux
