Nice to see, in the comments to this retrospective of Palm OS & devices, someone saying Psion devices "had the best calendar software I have ever used". Shows I'm not being completely stupid in my efforts to create a modern Psion Agenda.https://arstechnica.com/gadgets/2024/04/palm-os-and-the-devices-that-ran-it-an-ars-retrospective/#Psion #PDA

I've just released v0.3.3 of Pygenda - my WIP #Psion-inspired agenda app for keyboard-equipped mobile linux devices. Main change is to move to more modern packaging, which should mean less fiddly installation & less work for me. So in theory a good time to try it out.Source/docs: https://github.com/semiprime/pygendaVideo I always share of Pygenda on a #GeminiPDA: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uvQqFmlZ6nMDevices it should fit: #PinePhone+keyboard, #GPD, #pro1x #EeePC, #n900, #Zaurus, #CosmoCommunicator#PDA #LinuxMobile

@theresnotime Called a "Honda" connector. Pretty rare nowadays. If it's for file transfer a CF card is easier. Maybe @thelastpsion has some ideas for sourcing cables or connectors.

@thelastpsion I'm currently in the long tail of a heavy cold, but well apart from that. Hope you're well. Great to see the CTRAN release. My project news is that I paid for a 2nd-hand Cosmo Communicator from a stranger on the Internet, which I'm hoping arrives soon (otherwise I've been the victim of an oddly specific scam). While waiting my brain is generating ideas of things to do with it. By the time it arrives I'll have enough plans to occupy me until the heat death of the Universe.

@thelastpsion The primary motivation for getting the Cosmo was to put Linux on it & get Pygenda running, so I could provide tested Pygenda on Cosmo docs. Then it gives me a tinkering machine that isn't my daily-driver & with a more recent Linux.Ideas: If Bluetooth works I'd like Pygenda alarms show on my PineTime. Or even have alarms/appointments show on the Cosmo's external screen. And, can I update the Linux image? Or get LineageOS running? Probably pipe dreams, but they make my neurons fire.

I've just released version 0.3.4 of Pygenda, my WIP Psion-style agenda application for keyboard-equipped handhelds running GNU-like Linux. The main changes this release are bug fixes and installation instructions for the Cosmo Communicator (see photos).Source & docs: https://github.com/semiprime/pygendaThe old video I keep sharing showing some of Pygenda's features on a Gemini PDA: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uvQqFmlZ6nM#CosmoCommunicator #GeminiPDA #LinuxMobile #PDA #Psion
