@nextcloud having played with Recognize quite a bit the one thing that makes it impossible to use Photos is that you cannot access the actual file. Meaning you can open a photo and edit it's attributes but you cannot go directly to the file itself in its directory nor can you change the tags. You can make note of the file name and search in another window but...

@seb usually when the alert triggers fight or flight I spend 10-15 mins hunting through logs until I discover that it was yet another nothingburger from an ad network to a mobile device on a guest network and then I take a paper bag into the bathroom for a couple of minutes or until my hr is under 130 so I'm ready for the next alert flood

@nextcloud I'd like to see the nextcloud devs put more focus on what users need and want than what shiny new gizmo can be shoehorned in. Whenever I need an example of bloat I just show my nextcloud interface.For a very basic example of many things to address; bring back simple txt file editing, in all interfaces, while the rich text is nice... for some users I guess, I'm sure many people just want to make a quick note without all the overhead and weird responses of the rich text app.

@futurebird strange, I have Use of Weapons but no others and I can't remember a thing about the book. Been looking for hard sci-fi and having been out of reading for a while I've been asking around for who to read that's writing now. The Goodreads reviews of Weapons brings to mind Modesitt's Edolotin books but I may be way off.

@futurebird I guess I'm old enough that seeing "futuristic aesthetic" in your post instantly brought a slight trigger of the latest Fantastic Four trailer and I gagged a little, especially since what we actually have now is Musk's Starship and I don't think it's going to get better, since the Expanse is probably about as close as an accurate prediction for what's to come, so I can only hope that my idea of the concept will have to be C.
