@linmob @normandc Thanks for all the Wednesday updates, I've been following along with interest. I have a Librem 5 on order, so I was concerned by the deleted post. Looks like this thread was the one moved (https://forums.puri.sm/t/librem-5-usa-read-before-ordering/14239/16) and perhaps wasn't Purism's fault this time.

@linmob @PINE64 Thanks for your weekly updates, I'm pleased to hear your continuing for now! I also noticed this https://fosstodon.org/@PINE64/107566967950259308 which I thought was interesting, but maybe it fell just between the last two weeklies

@martijnbraam This looks great! Thanks for all your work on this - today I ordered food at a restaurant using my OG Pinephone via a QR code!

@linmob Thanks for your update. Just wanted to mention for tablets that i've been using Ubuntu on an ASUS t300chi for about 4 years now - its basically a large tablet (x86) with detachable bt keyboard. It works great - touchscreen, stylus, (crap) camera, and uhdmi output all working fine.

@linmob it's definitely not a failure - it's intended as a development device, and even then I've been using mine as my only phone for almost 2 years now. I do find it frustrating that the Pine64 business model relies on all the software being developed for free by the community, and although the community has done a great job, I don't think that great stability or a solid user experience are going to be possible from people working just in their spare time.

@joao I just received mine, and I'm pleasantly surprised by the battery life (because of all the comments I had seen on it). I guess this is all down to work put into optimisation. Compared to the Pinephone, the in-use lifetime seems to be much better. Obviously, currently the Pinephone can suspend and stay asleep for longer, but I get the impression that once suspend support lands, the battery profile in the Librem 5 is going to be much better than the Pinephone.
