#Portland short story: I was at Barista, my favorite #pdx #coffee shop, and my 2-year-old was hopping around, meowing, acting like a cat. The barista was a pretty manly guy and was taking sooo long to make my drink. 🙄 I was annoyed by the slowness, but then he spins around and hands me the most amazing coffee #art I’ve ever seen! He says “yeah I’m a cat dad, too.” 😻

Middle-aged with three kids, and by this point in my life I’ve met a lot of grown-ups. I’m even friends with some of them. And guess what, kids? I’ve concluded that “adulting” doesn’t mean you’ve necessarily got *anything* figured out emotionally. Adulting is simply keeping a calendar or reminders, so you take care of unexciting, yet important tasks *proactively* instead of reactively. Examples: tire rotations, furnace filter changes, tax payments. That’s it!
