@hhardy01 Because there is enough uspol in the news, other social media and around the water cooler. Some people come here to get away from that. As a courtesy to them, I CW stuff. It's not self censorship and it's actually quite common on our instance.

@hhardy01 We're going to have to agree to disagree, the the CW wars have left a wide path of destruction across part of the fediverse and I came down of the side of CWing uspol. No hard feelings, that's just me.

Watched “This is how it ends”.Not bad. Leans heavily on the trope that it only takes 3-5 days before the average human is willing to kill for a Jerrycan of gas.Just once, I’d like to see an apocalypse movie where people take the opportunity to band together and build a solar punk collective where everyone is cool to each other.

@snowdusk_ yeah, Apple seems be be making a go out of just taking your money directly rather than trying to find sneaky ways to monetize you. Deploying things like encryption, sane browser behavior and USB ports that shut down to thwart law enforcement overreach.I’m extracting myself from Google’s ecosystem but that doesn’t mean I’m blindly moving to iCloud et al. I’m actually replacing things like online storage with encrypted usb drives and streaming music with local MP3s.

NPR had a story this morning about a raft of proposals in Texas to enshrine the right to discriminate against LGBTQ folks because of “sincerely held religious views”. e.g., Chiropractors refusing to align your spine because you are gay. Accountants who refuse to do lesbian taxes.One more time for those who weren’t listening, “Love thy neighbor”. If your religion requires you to be a bigot, you’re doing it wrong.
