@stux Making a point of saying "I will abide by the results" and then not abiding by the results, changing the rules, is embarrassing to an extent that I would have thought even he would want to avoid. But as an onlooker, I kind of want him to stay on. I basically want to see the ship go down with him on it.

@garthk @clive I guess I'm the uncommon type who uses standard punctuation in texts. Even if it's a single line. I think of punctuation as similar to wearing appropriately tidy clothes when you go out in public.

@clive In this case, didn’t it mean he was lesser in size? Not that that would be much consolation — having your short stature rubbed in your face like that. But at least they weren’t implying he was a lesser man, right? Maybe I’m wrong about that.

Please, America. Don't make the same mistake — the mistake of underestimating Trump (or overestimating voters) and thinking he is too laughable of a candidate to win. Don't take chances. What I’m saying is that you’re playing with fire if you start dismissing Trump as a laughable candidate who isn’t polling well and would be easy to run against. Corrupt, Trump-appointed judge who showed favor to him in the past and who could delay the trial, disallow evidence, or even throw out the case altogether, appointed to oversee Trump's trial. You can't make it up. So begins another season in hell, at least for those of us who suffer anxiety and fear the fallout — even to those of us in different countries — of anther corrosive #Trump presidency, surely the fatal one. #USpolitics

Sorry to bring more Trump anxiety to this platform. That was actually one of the things I was trying to get away from by coming to #Mastodon from Twitter. It was bad enough that there were things that he did each day of his presidency that scared the crap out of me, but Twitter was like a cauldron in which those anxieties were kept at a boil. I'll do my best to keep from simmering and stewing here, since it doesn't stop the future from transpiring and only exacerbates the dread many of us feel.

I do not really buy this sentiment that the democrats lost the election. They could have done many things better, yes, but the US is dealing with a viral infection that makes people see in Donald Trump a heroic, godly force for good instead of a vile, corrupt conman with animal instinct instead of brains. No amount of frustration with democrats accounts for this. It’s a cult. It’s a disease.#uspol #uspolitics
