sometimes I read through the decisions of financial ombudsman service like it's a relationship column in a newspaper. while most of it is quite dry cases of ‘customer had fraud occur, bank says customer acted negligently’, you do get some incredible complaints

Discovering that supporting IPv6 is a point of pride for chinese companies as part of the “China Next Generation Internet” project, which became official government policy in 2021 with a plan to eventually phase out IPv4 by around 2030.Meanwhile in AWS… 🙃https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/China_Next_Generation_Internet

Just saw one of those VPN ads that tries to scare you by including your IP address in the ad but I know my home IPv4 and v6 ranges so I knew what it was claiming wasn't correct.After poking around, it turned out that the address it was showing was of the nginx instance serving the ad. I presume nobody told the ad image generator sitting behind it about X-Forwarded-For. 🙃

met a guy on my train home who was playing factorio. it turned out after striking up conversation that he only plays it as a freight train network simulator and has a mod stack that trivialises the entire rest of the game but makes trains more complicatedin awe tbh
