Yet more stupid management decisions. *sigh* I think I've had enough by now. The nice little startup I once joined was bought 3 years ago, and apparently I'm not cut out for big corporations and their stupidity. It drives me up the wall and makes management resent having to talk to me.I am officially back on the job market now. If you need an experienced C++ programmer give me a shout. I don't mind coming to a Berlin office once a month, but purely remote is also fine.(Please boost.)

I have been doing (semi-)embedded C++ for the last decade and learned a thing or two about AC and energy grids along the way: https://toot.berlin/@sbi/110485482006891285.I've done other things before (including teaching C++), but I would *love* to be able to keep working on saving the planet.I have mostly worked for small startups, but some of my code was bought by Adobe, Google, Rolls Royce, and other big players. Some of it runs on millions of desktops, some of it keeps the lights on for millions of homes.

@collectifission This might be funny, but it's actually wrong. Germany was a net power exporter in 2024, and mostly only bought power when it was cheaper to buy it abroad than to produce it at home. (And with nuclear power, that's never the case.)/cc @cstross
