Lots of toots talking over each other about racism. YES white people can obviously be targets of racial prejudice which is BAD!! but racism is not the right word to use. Racism is racial prejudice + power structures created a long time ago that privilege white people over black and brown people. If someone says you are racist it doesn’t have to mean you think we are less human than white people. It can be because you are honestly blind to the privilege of power that existed before you were born.

Know how I can be so sure racial prejudice against white people is real? Because I used to think that way all the time when I was a teenager and it’s not a light switch either. You have to keep staying aware and correct your mind. Just like we ask white people to be aware of privilege. When you meet a truly racist person who believes they are right to be that way you will know it because they are the stupidest people you will ever talk to in your life.

If you DM me trying to manipulate me into believing lolicon isn’t child porn I am going to suspend your account for gaslighting. There was some confusion about tooters rule 11 by people thinking we are saying lolicon is identical to CSAM so I rewrote the rule to be more clear. It’s not identical but it is related. There will never be a separate rule for it. I don’t care if it’s fiction and fantasy I won’t water it down. Normalizing that content validates pedophiles and can lead to child abuse.

I stopped using Twitter in March and I just deleted my Instagram account. I read today that 30% of everybody in the world who has access to the internet uses Instagram so it’s not going away anytime soon but I don’t need to be one of them. On fedi what you share gets engagement naturally because of actual interest and not because some company is paying Meta to make you see it. People are so much nicer here and I help make Tooters a safe space. I am so done with all the billionaire bullshit.

All the people flooding FediBlock with op-ed toots about Threads aren’t doing admins any favors. Pretty sure everyone has already made up their mind either way about that instance and there are other hashtags for the topic that are more relevant.

I don’t understand the admins who are defederating instances that are choosing to federate with Threads. Isn’t that the same logic as .art and defederating instances for guilty by association? Don’t bite my head off please I am honestly asking what the difference is because seems like the same way of thinking to me. We have Threads blocked so why should I care if we federate with an instance that doesn’t block?

Fedi is so fun because talking to people on here is a social opportunity not a social obligation. I have responsibilities as an admin but the community make it not seem like work at all. Ngl at first all of the nerdy code talk made me not want to come on here much because I didn’t feel like I fit in with the crowd but no offense I just mute a lot of that stuff now.:blobfox_group_snuggle:
