@BoydStephenSmithJr @brokenix I don't get why people think this. An average nixos user interacts very little with the language, not to say you can get very fast with only knowing the most basics.

Today was a productive day and I finally finished some really long taking projects. I am now hosting my own Knot DNS server and finally migrated off Cloudflare. Their DNS servers still respond with old NS records even over a day after deleting the domain from their service. Other DNS server respond with the correct one by now. Let's see when that stops.I also migrated some mail addresess off GSuite (Google workspace they are called now I think) which triggered that journey

@adam but more software probably also means in total more vulnerabilities across all of them and requiring users to regularly check if their app is still supported and maintained. Also security audits would probably not spread their focus among all of them.Yes, it would be a good thing if Signal allowed others to connect but it would not automatically make things more secure without work.

@hexa @SuperDicq @fgaz yep, going away from GitHub would require having lots of sponsoring money and every time someone bigger would pull out, the entire thing would be at risk.Also, if you migrate you would probably lose some of the contributors.
