       @lauren The number of active users fell *TO* 1.4 million, not *by* 1.4 million. Starting from a baseline of 380,000, that's more than tripling. I understand what has sparked this conversation, but the context is #Mastodon  tripled its active users in less than four months, and that seems just as important as the part that's getting all the attention.

       @lauren Correct: by 1.1 million. I was referring to the first sentence of your second paragraph, which says by 1.4 million. Not a huge issue, but as the difference is almost equal to #Mastodon's total active users pre-Twitter meltdown, it seemed worth pointing out.
