       @lauren You are correct, because neither DeSantis nor the rich people he serves really mean a flat tax when they say " flat tax". What they mean is a single rate on earned income above some zero bracket amount. Since they don't pay very much tax and earned income, relative to what they actually earn, they're thrilled by it. If it were an actual flat tax, with no capital gains differential, no credits for all sorts of garbage, etc they wouldn't like it at all.
